Mountain Views

• Views from Tramway du Mont Blanc: Take the cable car from Bellevue (less than 75 metres from our apartment) and catch the Tram from the small station on the top of the hill. A beautiful train journey through the mountains with breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding area

• Montenvers Train and the Mer de Glace: take the train up to Montenvers for views of the Mer de Glace glacier, the Chamonix Aiguilles (including the often painted Dru), visit the ice grottos, the museum of alpine fauna, have lunch at the recently restored Grand Hotel du Montenvers. Many walks can be started from here including the Grand Balcon Nord

• Aiguille du Midi: take in the breathtaking 360 degree views over the Mont Blanc range from the top of one of the highest cable cars in Europe. At 3842 m the air is cold and thin so do pack warm clothes.

• Gorge de la Diosaz: site of natural beauty, the Gorge has footpaths around so that the powerful torrents and waterfalls can be seen close up.
